What else would a dragon avidly read other than books of fantasy tales? Though to a dragon, the fantasy stories would be histories and the hero probably wouldn't be the knight. My card features Kraftin' Kimmie Stamps and Distress Oxides on glossy photo paper with paper piecing.
Putting It Together
The book reading dragon is one of my favourite stamp sets.
To make the panels I used to paper piece the dragon, I used Distress Oxides on glossy photo paper.
I positioned the dragon to make the most of the marbling and mottling before I stamped him with Stazon.
I fussy cut the dragon close to the lines.
I cut off the book with the intent to piece it from a different panel.
I used scrap from a previous project, also Oxides on glossy photo paper, to stamp and cut the book.
I stamped the dragon again on white cardstock and fussy cut it with a margin.
I paper pieced the two glossy parts on to the white and added some gel pen details.
I added the dragon to a panel with foiled fantasy book words matted with mercury glass gold on a white cardbase. I popped the dragon up with foam mounting tape for a little dimension.
Inside I used another Kraftin' Kimmie set for a little dragon and added two sentiments.

Oh, Kate, I own this stamp, too, and love it. What a wonderful dragon, reading a book, right? My daughter is a librarian for the middle school in town and that was my reason for having to have it. Love, love, love that wonderful background paper. It is perfect for that image. Absolutely spot on! Love the colours and, of course, that sweet surprise inside the card. The little dragon and both sentiments finish it up perfectly. Thanks so much for joining our Watercooler Wednesday Challenge this week.
