Boozy cards are fun to make. I love the snarkiness of this sentiment from Unity Stamp Co: "Alcohol because no great story started with someone eating a salad."

Dew Drop Inn - Through the Craftroom door, watercolour, stencil, inside shadow box

This week's sponsor for the Through the Craftroom Door's blog challenge is Pattie's Creations. The random draw prize is 3 images.

I am an Artist and Internet Technology Specialist. I have created my very own character and her best friend, her name is Pattieboop and her best friend is a very petite CAT named Allie. I love to draw and create my own digital images to use while crafting. My digital images that you find here are mine and I want to start sharing them with you. I am applying a small fee for my images and I know you will just love them.

My project is a square card with an inside shadow box that folds flat for mailing. I coloured the adorable Dew Drop Inn with Nuvo watercolour pencils and embellished it with die cuts from Hero Arts and CC Designs, stamps from Hero Arts, and stencils from Elizabeth Craft Designs, Stencil Girl, and FolkArt.

Those of us who purchased the Summer Super Sekret Krafty Kit are joining in to help introduce this wonderful new stamp set and inks. I created a box, a Bee Box, using the stamps and new inks.

Putting It Together

I like the surprise kits. It's such fun getting to play along with the introduction of a stamp set and now new inks. Kim also packs the kit with lots of fun stuff, even if I don't often use them on the introductory projects.

The bees are a delightful size and I can see using them in a variety of ways. For this project, I stamped them with the Marvelous Mocha ink and then embossed them with clear.

I used the Yummy Yello pad to paint the bees with a dollar store brush. The embossing acted as a resist to keep the brown stamping.

I fussy cut the bees.

I used Spectrum Noir alcohol ink markers to add shading and give the bees visual dimension.

My cutie bees all done up.

I stamped one of the sentiments on a tag I've gotten in some kit. I used the Marvelous Mocha. I then rubbed Versamark roughly on the tag.

I covered the tag with the lovely chunky Vintage Beeswax embossing powder from the new Baked Texture line from Emerald Creek. And melted it with my heat tool. I double embossed the tag, to make it look honey drippy.

I added one of the bees with a snip of foam mounting tape.

To make the box, I used the box die that came with the Big Plus starter kit and a hexagon die to cut windows. To cover the windows, I trimmed packing plastic. The plastic would also give the sides more structure to make up for the window cut outs.

I used the Honeycomb embossing folder to emboss the sides and top. I then used Versamark and the Vintage Beeswax to add rough patches and drips to look like honey.

I ran the plastic panels with the Hexagons dynamic embossing folder.

I rubbed the plastic with the Yummy Yellow ink.

I heat set the ink, being careful to not heat set out the embossing. (I should have inked them and then embossed them).

I used a dry cloth to wipe the panels and remove some of the still wet ink.

I added some Chocolate Bronze - Cosmic Shimmer to add a bit more visual dimension, shimmer, and grunge.

I glued the plastic panels in place and assembled the box.

I added bees to the sides and front and tied the box with a bit of baker

Cheers - masculine card, watercolour Distress marker

Almost all congratulatory cards for weddings, baby announcements, engagements, and other hetro coupling events tend to be focused on something suitable to give to the woman. But, what if your friend or family member is the bloke in the couple and you want to congratulate him on the event? I decided to make a card for such an event using Unity stamps and masculine colours and an unfussy layout.

Birthday Owl - single layer watercolour

Mermaid Kelp - Prismacolor pencils, die cutting, embossing

Smooooches! I can't help loving you! A mermaid in kelp giving a fish a kiss, what can be cuter? How about this as a birthday greeting?

The mermaid is from Kraftin' Kimmie Stamps coloured with Prismacolor pencils. The kelp is a die from Scrapbooking Made Simple coloured with Nuvo embellishment mousse, Viva Decor, and Cosmic Shimmer. The bubbly background is an embossing folder from Taylored Expressions with colour from Nuvo embellishment mousse. And, the frame is a patterned paper from KaiserCraft. I think I put the kitchen sink in there, too, somewhere *smirk*

Bday Monsters - Through the Craftroom Door, gelatos watercolour

This week's sponsor for the Through the Craftroom Door blog challenge is Bugaboo Stamps! The randomly drawn winner will get a $12 gift certificate for the shop.

As if raising five children in the frozen land of the North was not enough of a challenge, Jodie Mackrell decided to dip her cold little Canadian toes into the world of papercrafting by opening an online store full of her illustrations. That was seven years ago. Today Bugaboo Stamps is one of the leading companies in digital images, and we're still growing! From seriously snarky to sugary sweet to sublimely soulful all the way over to the other side of the super sexy spectrum, you're bound to find all that you need and more to create your paper projects. Jodie works very hard to provide New Releases and Freebies every week!

For my inspiration card, I chose the Birthday Monsters, a cute bunch with birthday cheer.

Gladioli - Sheepski Designs, Prismacolor pencil, single layer card

The Sheepski Designs blog challenge this month is Embellish It or Clean and Simple (CAS). Come play along with us! You don't need to use a Sheepski Design image (though we do like seeing them) to play along. Which style do you prefer to do?

For my inspiration project, I chose to make a CAS card. I added a personal challenge and made it as a single layer CAS card. I used Gladioli - image 142, coloured the flowers with Prismacolor pencils, and added a sentiment in silver embossing.
