As a change up from cards, I decided to do a shadowbox to put by our TV as an homage to the movies we watch together. The shadowbox features an adorable stamp set and a stencil from Newton's Nook with Distress marker colouring, Liquid Applique for dimension, Kaiserkraft paper, and an Elizabeth Craft Designs die for the frame.
Gecko Galz is a digital craft products shop that was started by a group of paper artist and designers who wanted products that they could not find anywhere else. They wanted to bring their love of paper arts and altered art works to others and inspire them with beautiful papers, stamps and ephemera. The idea of Gecko Galz came to fruition in 2012 when they opened their shop on Etsy and since then have offered hundreds of products, ideas and classes to others https://www.etsy.com/shop/geckogalz http://geckogalzscrapbooking.blogspot.com/
For my inspiration project, I decided to use the Ballerina Girls collage sheet to make a mixed media plaque using a Kaisercraft frame, chipboard filigree from Southern Ridge Trading Company, paints and waxes from Prima and Ranger, Nuvo drops, a Tim Holtz wing, and beaded stick pins.
We recently found out our former neighbour has cancer. I made this card for her for us and our other neighbours to send to her. Our little street is dotted with dogwood trees, so I wanted to have them prominent on the card for her. The sentiment is from Kraftin' Kimmie Stamps, the dogwood die is Spellbinders.
A little dragon with fire wishing you a "flaming good day" features stencil, stamp set, and inks from Kraftin' Kimmie Stamps along with BoBunny glitter paste, Koh-i-noor pencil colouring, and embossing.
Wahoo!! Hey, Lil; Buckaroo, I hope you have a Happy Birthday. My card features a long retired stamp set from Kraftin' Kimmie Stamps along with Kimmie stencil and inks, Spellbinders dies, and a butterfly from Tim Holtz. I used Prismacolor pencils for the no lines colouring.
For a fun shaker card, I decided to go a bit out of the box and use a winter stamp set for a non-wintery love fest card. I made a Distress ink rainbow with embossing resist using snowflakes from Newton's Nook! To me, "If snowflakes were kisses, I'd send you a blizzard" is the perfect love sentiment year 'round. Let it snow!
For my inspiration card, I used Staedler coloured pencils and Nuvo glitter markers to colour the shy fairy and then embellished her with die cuts, a background made with a gel plate, and Nuvo gemstones.
"Love is a many splendored thing." "Love will keep us together." "Love makes the world go 'round."
My lovin' couple is a long retired Kraftin' Kimmie stamp coloured with Spectrum Noir markers and embellished with another retired Kraftin' Kimmie stamp along with retired Tonic Studios dies and retired Prima Marketing paper with a not retired Kraftin' Kimmie stencil background with not retired Kraftin' Kimmie inks. It's a good thing love lasts long past retirement.
We all need that one friend who totally gets us and goofs with us.
June's theme for the Sheepski Designs challenge blog celebrates Someone Special, be they friend, loved one, or just a someone special you want to honour. My inspiration card for June is about friendship and features Bad Hare Day coloured with Copic markers and paired with a Spellbinders die and stamp set.
