Donut Kitty - coloured pencil

"Donut know what I would do without mew!" This cute Newton's Nook tuxedo kitty playing in a donut is coloured with Koh-i-Noor accented with gel pen.

Putting It Together

I love the Newton's Nook kitty. He gets into such fun situations.

I decided to make the kitty into a tuxedo and used Koh-i-Noor pencils on Mi Tientes accented with gel pens.

I decided to use the sketch from Outlawz to inspire the layout.

I used a Spellbinders die to trim the image. I also cut an identical white cardstock piece to glue behind the lightweight Mi Teintes to give it more body.

I did a dry layout with burlap and ribbon. I like the pink and black checked ribbon but sadly have very little of it.

Using the checked ribbon top bottom and middle was a bit overpowering so I changed to black and pink twine for the top and bottom. The burlap I have is too small to go across the card, so I clipped it in the middle which will be hidden by the kitty.

I dry fit with the kitty and liked the balance.

I made a bow with the black and pink check to add above the kitty. Sadly, I now only have about 6 inches left of that ribbon.

Inside, I stamped the sentiment and a little donut detail.
