Butterfly Sparkle

On a recent trip to the Washington to pick up packages and do a little shopping, I stopped at Jo-ann's. While I was waiting for the washroom (it's a bit of a drive from home to Bellingham), I was looking at the fabrics. This sequined fabric caught my eye so I got some, for paper crafting.

A Dream is a Wish your Heart makes

On Monday I found out the challenge for SSS blog was "Wish". Immediately, the song from Cinderella started drifting through my head. I started mentally going though various things in my collection of dies and stuff to build the idea.

Tale of Two Cards

One cardstock, one embossing folder, a handful of Distress Ink pads with a blending tool, and some Perfect Pearls to make two backgrounds that are very different and end up as two different cards.

This is a much longer post since it details both cards.

Gesundheit!

The challenge for a Facebook group I'm in was to make a "get well" card. One of the other gals linked a card with a tissue and I fell in love with the idea so I decided to give it a go.

Wolf Dream

One of my sweetie's totem animals is a wolf. I made this as an encouragement for him. When I first saw the Spellbinder's die, I thought of him. I picked up my order, that had the die in it, today. Never stop dreaming.

The wolf and hillside are die cut from felt. The background paper is embossed with Softly falling and brushed lightly with silver. The wolf's embossed accents are touched up with Chameleon detail pen. The moon and 'dream' are in a shimmery white paper with a slight golden tint, hard to see in the picture.

The card made my sweetie smile, especially since he wasn't expecting anything.

Cherry Posies Thank You

A few months ago I bought a sealed clearance bag of ten 12x12" sheets of paper for $1. The papers weren't ones I would have chosen off the rack, but had their own charms. This red with white flowers was one of the papers. When I saw it I was a bit baffled for what to do with it and let it sit in my stash waiting for an idea to brew. A challenge by a Facebook group to use "DSP" (designer series paper, Stampin' Up's term for patterned paper) and the SSS blog challenge for Flowers were the inspiration for me to look at this paper again. I've also been meaning to make a Thank You for the person who helped my sweetie and I become permanent residents in Canada. This is for her.

French Confection

The challenge for this card was one posed by Carmi Cimcata for her personal blog. She had recently been to Paris and found a collection of lovely rhinestone button blanks. She distributed these amoung a group of her crafty friends to see what their creative minds would bring forth. I am thrilled to have been part of the challenge both because I like turning my little grey cells to the task of a challenge but also to see what others would do with the very same item. This card, my French Confection, is what I created. The paper I used as the background for the top reminds me of French Provincial so I used that as a theme for the piece.

You should check out all the rest of the creations for the Rhinestone Button Blank Challenge

Mermaid Life

I started this card last Monday when I found out the Monday challenge for Simon Says Stamp blog was embossing. I had gotten this particular embossing folder with a mind to make a card with Nerissa. Then, while making this card I found out the May 2016 release for Krafting Kimmie Stamps is "Under the Sea" with the first preview stamps on Tuesday being mermaids! I have also been wanting to use more of my resin castings and this was a great opportunity for those, too.

Layers of Loving - anniversary card

After all the browns and oranges I've been working with lately, I decided to use a colour palette more to my personal preference. I love purple. The challenge inspirations were anniversary, stenciling, layers and, for my personal challenge, frilly.

Hufflepuffs Unite!

This card is inspired by the Harry Potter series and the Hogwart's Hufflepuff house. This is the house I keep getting sorted into whenever I take one of those quizzes *laugh* This card also has been inspired by the KKS blog Saturday challenge to use 3 dies or punches. I actually used 4 dies.
