As Halloween approaches, decorating is on my mind. I love Halloween. It's my favourite holiday.
This project features a small wooden coffin box embellished with a Distress ink, items molded from resin and Mod Podge Melts, wood cuts, and dollar store glass bottles.

Faux Stained Glass with Resin
Resin is an amazing medium. It's possible to do a lot of glass-like effects with resin including faux stained glass.
The article I wrote for Resin Obsession, split into 2 parts, details exactly how I was able to create a stained glass effect with Pebeo Outliner, Resin Obsession Super Clear resin, Pearl Ex pigment powders, and a digital stamp by Sheepski Designs.
Part 1 shows how to use Outliner to make a bezel for the resin: https://www.resinobsession.com/resin-tutorials/relief-outliner-paint
Part 2 shows how I used the outlined image as the bezel for pouring resin: https://www.resinobsession.com/resin-tutorials/faux-stained-glass-diy
This was a fun project to make! You should give it a try, too.
Note: The articles I write appearing on Resin Obsession are paid content. I am also on the design team for Sheepski Designs and had permission from the artist to use the image in this article.

French Confection
The challenge for this card was one posed by Carmi Cimcata for her personal blog. She had recently been to Paris and found a collection of lovely rhinestone button blanks. She distributed these amoung a group of her crafty friends to see what their creative minds would bring forth. I am thrilled to have been part of the challenge both because I like turning my little grey cells to the task of a challenge but also to see what others would do with the very same item. This card, my French Confection, is what I created. The paper I used as the background for the top reminds me of French Provincial so I used that as a theme for the piece.
You should check out all the rest of the creations for the Rhinestone Button Blank Challenge
on Carmi's blog: https://carmicimicata.blogspot.ca/2016/05/the-rhinestone-button-blank-challenge.html
Mermaid Life
I started this card last Monday when I found out the Monday challenge for Simon Says Stamp blog was embossing. I had gotten this particular embossing folder with a mind to make a card with Nerissa. Then, while making this card I found out the May 2016 release for Krafting Kimmie Stamps is "Under the Sea" with the first preview stamps on Tuesday being mermaids! I have also been wanting to use more of my resin castings and this was a great opportunity for those, too.

Colouring Resin with Pearl Ex Two Ways
My first paid tutorial is now live!
http://www.resinobsession.com/resin-tutorials/using-pearl-ex-resin
The tutorial is on using Pearl Ex with resin in two different ways to colour resin with completely different effects. For example, in the shells picture above (from the article) the two pink shells are using the same exact Pearl Ex powder. The gold ones are also usingthe same one. In each pair, one is colored by brushing Pearl Ex in the mold and the other by mixing Pearl Ex into the resin. But... read the article for all the details. #ResinObsession
In addition, for this weekend (until 17 April 2016) many of the silicone molds are on sale -and- a coupon for $5 off on orders over $50. The coupon code brings a grin to my face: RIJACKI.
This is the start of something wonderful :) I will be doing a string of tutorials for Resin Obsession showcasing resin and resin related products (such as epoxy clay, molds, and colourants). This is on my road to having writing and creating as a much more significant part of my life and livelihood!
