Pink Hope - mixed media with resin cast items, embossing, and stenciling

October is breast cancer awareness month. Cancer SUCKS! All who have it, and their families, need to have hope to fight, to survive.

My project today is a plaque with mixed media elements, a message of Hope in pinks using a Unity Stamps set, stenciling, resin pieces I cast, Distress ink, embossing on acetate, all on a wood plaque.

Eclipse Alien - glow-in-the-dark resin pendant from a candy mold

In the clearance bin of the Micheals I found a candy mold with sci-fi motifs. I am a bit of a sci-fi buff so I got it with the intent of trying it with resin. For the upcoming eclipse (21 August 2017), I decided the alien would be the perfect necklace to wear to view the celestial event.

Tumbler: Night Scene in Resin

As part of a resin challenge, I decorated a stainless steel tumbler from the dollar store with a moon lit city scene. Resin casting on a curved surface is not easy, but the end product can be very fulfilling.

Speedy

The first time I saw this stamp, he sped into my heart but I haven't had a chance to make him into a card until now. Roller blading tortoise, speeding along, the thought makes me chuckle. I thought he would be perfect for a masculine or gender neutral card.

Masque for the Ball

Today I took a detour into something a little more unusual. I decided to do a canvas piece a little mix media-ish combining resin, feathers, and paper elements. It is the mystery of a night, of time and masquerade.
