Bunny Birthday - Through the Craftroom Door, watercolour, die cutting

Medical photographer part time but my love was always drawing. I started cardmaking about 4yrs ago when I bought my daughter a cardmaking kit which we did together, but I’m afraid I got the bug! My daughter preferred scrapbooking. I then started looking online at other blogs and this then became my passion and I loved sharing my cards with likeminded people.
I love stamping and loved finding images, but sometimes I could not find what I wanted so I started to draw myself.

This then has become my second addiction and I have never looked back, I love thinking of new images, and its just fabulous to see others take them and make them into beautiful works of art. Long may it continue!

My card features Bunny Cupcake which I coloured using Daniel Smith watercolours accented with gel pen and combined with die cuts from Impression Obsession and Queen & Company.

Putting It Together

On the weekend I went to a garage sale hosted by a local scrapbook store. I wanted to get there early for good parking (and to finish shopping before it got too hot), so I printed the image on watercolour paper and brought it with me.

I got to the event almost an hour early so I had plenty of time to paint. I used a palette with paint daubs and a waterbrush. It's very convenient for on the go colouring.

Back home, I added accents of Uniball white and Gelly Roll Glaze black and silver. I also added some Snow Marker to the tail. The snow marker puffs up when it's heated for a fun dimensional effect.

I die cut a frame using a die from Queen & Company of purple Glitterstock.

I used an Impression Obsession die to cut 'Happy Birthday' from sprinkle patterned paper and heavy white cardstock.

I stacked the word die cuts for a dimensional sentiment.

I layered the framed image and the sentiments on patterned paper from Photoplay using a sparkly embellishment from Queen & Company for the dot on the "i".

Inside, on more of the patterned paper from Photoplay, I used a sentiment from Unity Stamp Co in violet archival ink.
