Birthday Eclipse - die cutting, eclipse

What's more birthday than small colourful candles that have been blown out? Happy Birthday!

Putting It Together

For my first attempt at an eclipse card, I am rather happy with how it turned out.

I did my own take on the eclipse using a 'happy birthday' die from Impression Obsession. I die cut it from my panel, saving all the bits, and also from fun foam.

After adhering the die cut panel to the matte panel, I fit the fun foam into the words.

I then glued all the negative space little bits into the voids on the fun foam, adhering them to the matte.

Once all the background bits were in place, I glued the patterned paper positive on the fun foam, lining it up with the pattern below.

This raises the word with a fun 3D effect.

I then tied a bit of yellow and white baker's twine around the decorated panel to finish it off before adhering it all to the card base.

Inside, I added a strip of the candles and a sentiment in yellow ink.
