Morning - coloured pencil, stencilling, embossing
As part of the reward for my recent challenge win for the Outlawz Sunday Song & Rhymes, I was asked to be a guest designer! The sponsor for the challenge is Scribble Designs.
July Morning by Uriah Heep
There I was on a July morning
Looking for love
With the strength
Of a new day dawning
And the beautiful sun
At the sound
Of the first bird singing
I was leaving for home
With the storm
And the night behind me
And a road of my own
With the day came the resolution
I'll be looking for you
La la la la
I created a glimpse of dawn with a Sunny Flower from Scribble Designs (one of the many wonderful freebie stamps) using Koh-i-Noor pencils, MFT stencil, Nuvo embellishment mouse, Distress markers with spritzer tool, Distress Oxide spray, Spellbinders die, and Stampin' Up embossing folder. The inside sentiment is from Unity Stamp Co.

Rainbow Blizzard - embossing resist, shaker. embossing on acetate
For a fun shaker card, I decided to go a bit out of the box and use a winter stamp set for a non-wintery love fest card. I made a Distress ink rainbow with embossing resist using snowflakes from Newton's Nook! To me, "If snowflakes were kisses, I'd send you a blizzard" is the perfect love sentiment year 'round. Let it snow!

Popcorn and a Movie - watercolour pencil, box
One of my favourite summer activities is binging movies. It's a great way to stay out of the heat from the sun and in a cool shady location. So, I made a popcorn box for holding popcorn with a binge-watching, popcorn-munching girl as the perfect pairing for a movie night. The box features a Kraftin' Kimmie Stamps set coloured with Nuvo watercolour pencils, and two Spellbinders die sets. What summer movie do you want to watch first?

Flamenco - Sheepski Designs, mixed media, Prismacolor pencil
I recently went to see a performance of Riverdance for a friend's birthday and the first appearance of the Flamenco dancer inspired me to create a piece using the lovely Flamenco from Sheepski Designs as my inspiration piece for the May blog challenge with the theme "Favourite Colour". Red is one of my favourite colours, so the dancer in red under the sun sang to my soul.
My mixed media piece features Prismacolour pencils on canvas board with Distress paint and foiled die cut sun. The frame has been embellished with die cutting and colours to heighten the red.

Nixie - Through the Craftroom Door inspiration, Prismacolor pencil and Mixed Media
This week the sponsor for the Through the Craftroom Door challenge is Oddball Art!
Artist, Poet, Fruitarian............. Lizzy Love is a perfect combination of sweet and sour that glitters up the grunge! Easily lose yourself in her artistic realm of sometimes spooky but always delightfully cute, big eyed waifs and their animal friends. Lizzy’s whimsical, one of a kind dream world is easily recognizable by her signature style of creepy yet cute, all the way from the haunting darkness to the rainbowtastic, her original creations are lovingly sprinkled with a heartbreaking sweetness. Though she is completely enthralled by her Twinkling watercolors right now, Lizzy employs many different mediums when she creates, from drawing to painting, sewing and cutting, the end result always being the same; A gothic fantasy land painted in soft pastels and neon colors; filled with big eyed beauties, creepy little cuties and quirky monsters of all shapes and sizes. Lizzy Love’s artwork includes original paintings both acrylic and watercolor, giclee fine art prints, art dolls, digital and rubber stamps of her characters , hand painted merchandise such as bags, tshirts and more..... limited only by her imagination the possibilities are endless. http://www.oddballartco.com/
For my project, I used the Cute Whimsical Big Eyed Fairy - Nixie the Pixie. I coloured her with PrismaColor pencils and added her and her mushrooms to a wall hanging with Graphic 45 paper, stenciling, Distress Oxides, chipboard embellishments, and embossing.
As usual, the theme for the Through the Craftroom Door challenge is Anything Goes! Come join us this week for the chance to win 3 digital stamps from Oddball Art!
