Sweet Friend - Distress marker

Having a sweet friend over for lunch, you accept that friend as they are. My card today features a House Mouse stamp and dies from Sizzix, MFT, and Simply Defined on a masculine card.

Putting It Together

My sweetie loves skunks so I am always looking for skunky stamps. I found this one at a garage sale sponsored by a local scrapbooking store. It was a wood-mount stamp that I demounted by simply pulling the rubber and foam from the block.

I stamped the image with Slate on watercolour paper and then coloured it with Distress markers.

I trimmed the image panel and added a white frame with a lightweight white cardstock to look like a photo.

I did a dry fit with a plaid background paper and dies. One of the challenges I wanted to enter with this project is using photo corners. I don't have any 'real' photo corners so I used a die to cut some from heavy black cardstock for an old-fashioned look.

I didn't pop anything up on this card to make it flatter for mailing. I used a kraft cardbase to blend with the colours in the card.

Inside, I added a strip of scrap from the plaid and added a Unity Stamps sentiment stamped with Slate.

  1. Kate, I love this card! Poor little mice have to hold their noses while politely eating with their "friend" Pretty colors and coloring too. Also like how you made it look like a photo on your card. Thanks for sharing your card with us at the House Mouse and Friends Monday Challenge and joining the fun. Nicely done.
