Kiss the Cook - watercolour pencil, stencilling, layers

An awesome guy does some of the cooking in our house and I love him lots. This is my card for him featuring a long retired stamp from Kraftin' Kimmie Stamps, an inside sentiment, a new stencil and inks from Kraftin' Kimmie with accents of Nuvo mica mist and die cuts from Kat Scrappy and Spellbinders.

Putting It Together

My sweetie is a pretty special guy. He's been learning more and more how to cook in the last 7ish years.

In December, I coloured up the image with Nuvo watercolour pencils.

I got this January release stencil a couple days ago and just had to give it a go with the new Nuvo brushes I got. I used reds, pinks, and a little purple on the hearts. To keep my panel in place, I used repositional adhesive and a plastic packaging envelope. I taped down just one spot on the stencil so I could open it like a hinge to check the colouring.

I love how the brushing turned out. I then gave the panel a mist of Tuscan Rose mica spray.

While finding a die to fit the image I spied (with my little eye) the backing for the stencil packaging. The blue stripes looked just so perfect!

I die cut the image, a mat from the blue stripes, and the hearts with the Kat Scrappiness die.

I die cut a whisk and spatula from a retired Spellbinders set and a backing mat of the blue stripes from another stencil's packaging. For my dry fit, I was thinking about putting it on a white card base.

I changed my mind on the card base and went with kraft. I think the light brown grounds the card better.

Inside, I added some of the scrap from the stencilled panel 'cause I hadn't the heart to toss it. I stamped the sentiment in red for joy.
