Putting It Together

I was originally planning to do a single layer card but printed the image too big for the placement. I'm glad, through, that I did get it too big since I think the card turned out lovely this way.

I decided to use Scribble Sticks with waterbrush to colour my image. I tucked the pack and the image into my purse to colour while I was at lunch and breaks for my day job.

I started on the holly and berries,

Then the boots and a subtle, scribbled background.

At home, I trimmed the image using a stitched die and dry fit it with foiled cardstock and a sentiment stamp from Impression Obsession.

I used scraps of foiled cardstock to create a frame to go under the image.

I used washi on the back of the foiled cardstock to make it easier to handle as a single piece.

I embossed the sentiment with Yuletide by Emerald Creek, a great embossing powder with green and red glitter in a green base. Very festive.

I used adhesive tape on the image panel to adhere it to the foiled. Turning pieces of the release paper perpendicular to the adhesive strips makes it easier to place since it will keep the adhesive from immediately adhering.

Just pull the release papers out when it's in place.

Inside I used a sentiment from Kraftin' Kimmie Stamps and a decorative border from Stampin' Up.

  2. This is such a cool image for a Christmas card!! Your colouring of the images is just amazing, you created so much detail on the holly. And the shiny red background paper gives it even more of a Christmassy feel. I'm so glad you shared this with us at Happy Little Stampers!
