Bicycle - Die cutting and stenciling with Clarity brush

I want to ride it where I like

Let's take a summer adventure on a bicycle. Don't forget to enjoy the journey.

This card features die cuts and stenciling: Dovecraft and Spellbinders dies, Unity Stamps sentiment, My Favorite Things stencil, and Distress ink stenciling with Clarity brush.

Putting It Together

I found this bicycle paper a few months ago on sale and was smitten. I picked up a couple sheets and added it to my stash for a future day. I got the die recently, also on a sale, and thought this would be a great way to put them together.

I die cut the bicycle and 'adventure' and dry fit them with the bicycle paper and some light turquoise metallic cardstock. I cut the strip from the part of the matte hidden by the patterned paper.

For the inside, I stenciled a sun. Using the Clarity brush with Distress ink, I start from the bottom, the sun and then brush up along the rays. This puts darker colour at the bottom while fading in the rays.

I use a wet wipe to clean my brush between use since I only have one set and like to use the brushes with different colours.

To add dimension, I snipped small strips of foam mounting tape to add to the bicycle.

I didn't cut a single strip long enough so have a seam in the middle.

But.. the bicycle covers the seam perfectly, with the upright under the seat positioned over the seam.

To give "adventure" some dimension, I die cut it twice more and ran it through the Xyron.

I stacked the die cuts.

After putting things on the card, I used scissors to trim the excess on the strip.

I stamped the sentiment in a dark wine to match the bicycle.
