Joyeux Noel

From the first time I saw the Stitched Whorl Background die I fell in love with it. In this card I use it as the backdrop for a snow and a French Christmas greeting.

Putting It Together

I ordered some items from Simon Says Stamp to be delivered to our US mail box in Blaine, WA, while we were away on our trip. One of the items is the greeting on this card, Joyeux Noel, so I did a quick trip to the US this morning to pick it up.

I first die cut the whorl background. It's exactly A2 size. I love the background and wanted to use it here to look like snow being blown around.

I also die cut the greeting and snowflakes from Shimmer Sheetz which I had backed with adhesive sheet. To cut Shimmer Sheetz (or other mylar sheets) a Precision Base Plate is a must. Backing the sheets with adhesive before cutting makes it real easy to add the items to the card panel.

To match the purple iris Shimmer Sheetz, I dry fit the panel with foiled card stock also in purple. The camera has a hard time picking up the colour of the foiled card stock because it is so reflective.

I used a larger card base so I could matte the whorls panel. I used light purple rhinestones for the dots above the e (partly because I lost one of the die cut ones, partly for the gem effect).

I left the inside blank for a personal sentiment.
