Christmas Tags that can be used as their own decoration and even used as a gift on their own. I made a variety of festive tags with gift card pockets.
One of the things I dislike about most cards or tags with a gift card slot is that they only look good when they have the gift card in place. As soon as the recipient takes out the gift card to use it, the card or tag looks incomplete. So, when adding in a gift card pocket, I try to think of a design that fits the card but still looks good without it.
Joy Tag
This tag features an image from Art Impressions that I coloured with watercolour pencils and a water brush when I was in the airport in Chicago on my way home last week. I added Wink of Stella to the green ornaments and fussy cut the image out after I got home.
The gift card pocket is beneath the panel of white stitched swirls and snowflakes. The inside of the pocket is red. A candy ribbon and Spellbinders snowflake on the back finish the tag.
Supplies
Joeux Noël Tag
A bit of festiveness with a French accent.
The gift card pocket is a snowflake embossed panel of teal accented by the teal ribbon and a glittery snowflake matching the glittery "joyeux noël" with rhinestones for the dots. On the other side is an embossed white panel studded with faux pearls and accented with a teal ribbon. To add shimmer to the snowflake embossed panels. I sprayed them with Perfect Pearls Confetti White.Supplies
Santa Tag
The vintage-style Santa picture from the Graphic 45 St Nicolas collection is actually a gift card pocket on a background of green holly.
Supplies
Wreath Tag
Adding dimension to the wreath patterned paper gives it a bit of distinction.
The gift card pocket features a panel from the Graphic 45 St Nicolas collection accented with Wink of Stella on the candy cane and red rhinestones. On the other side, the wreath and flowers are given dimension with foam mounting tape and touches of Glossy Accents on the holly berries. Wink of Stella adds a bit of shimmer to the ribbon. Red metallic dots finish the side.

Putting It Together - Gift Card Pocket
Since most gift cards are now the size of credit cards, I used an expired credit card to size the pocket.
First task, making a pocket. I decided to use fun foam to make a 3 sided frame to give room for the pocket.
The pocket on the Joy Tag was topped off with a white panel of Stiched Swirls. The red winks through the stitching and the sides.
The decorative panel for the Wreath Tag is too big to have a gift card peek out the top, so I adhereed the bottom of the pocket frame higher up on back of the panel. I added fun foam below the pocket to support the bottom of the panel. With the panel on the tag, the gift card peeks out the top.
