Super - coloured pencil, embossing

Getting back into regular creating again, I combined two Kraftin' Kimmie Stamps sets, some Primacolor pencils, a bit of embossing, and a bit of comic book inspiration. Super!

Putting It Together

For the past month, I have been doing a Craftroom Transformation and have only just started to get back into doing more creating. I'm still working out my picture taking arrangement. For now, I am using just using my cell phone's camera, though I think I am going to bring in the digital camera again for at least the 'finish' shots. I am also working on a setup that will allow me to do video. I took video while I was colouring but need to do some editing on it (as well as check it out) before I can post it (and my phone chunks it, so I need to at least stitch it together). If it's good enough to upload, I'll add a link in the post later.

I stamped the three images of the You Are Super stamp set on Strathmore Coloured Paper with Wicked Black and then used Prismacolor pencils to colour them. I listed the pencils I used on the scrap section of the paper.

I thought I had used the paper before, but this is apparently my first time with it. It performed pretty well. It's not as toothy as Mi Tientes but does have a slight texture that works with the pencils well. I'll definitely want to use it again.

I fussy cut all three of the images even though I only used the full one on this project. I'll hold on to the other two for later.

I trimmed a panel of Tempting Turquoise and embossed stars with gold and silver.

At first, I was considering using the turquoise as a card base so cut a 5 1/2" x 8 1/2" strip. I changed my mind, but instead of using my full-size guillotine, I thought it a perfect opportunity for my new 6" guillotine from Tonic. It worked perfectly! I used it later, too, to trim the sentiment banner. Snick-snick in a small space. I'm glad I got it on the tool sale last month at Tonic.

I dry fit the super girl and sentiment on the star panel.

I stamped the sentiment on a scrap of linen textured paper, trimmed it to a strip, then snipped fishtails. I used my score pad to etch fold lines to make it a dimensional banner.

I used foam mounting tape for the girl and the banner when I added everything to a white care base.

Inside, I used Ruby Red and the new Sparkling Sapphire (available on Saturday) to add more stars to the inside.
