Piano Birthday Silver - die cuts

Music makes the world better. My birthday card features die cuts from Die'Versions, Tutti Designs, and Elizabeth Craft Designs with stamps from Stampendous, Craftin' Desert Divas, and Unity Stamps. "If music be the food of love. play on!"

This is one of two cards I put together today with a similar theme and some of the same elements.

Putting It Together

Sometimes I get an idea in my head and then, after die cutting or stamping some of the elements, another similar idea pops in to compete. This card and its companion (Piano Birthday Bronze) started out from the same idea and diverged.

As I was waking this morning while thinking about a challenge (that ends today), I came up with an idea to use the piano silhouette I bought months ago (and hadn't used yet) with a music bar (also bought months ago and not used yet). a scribble frame, and a birthday greeting.  I first die cut the music from silver and a "happy birthday" in my stash. When I looked in Evernote to remind myself about black and white challenges + one other colour current challenges, I saw the "case" CAS challenge and thought, without the scribble frame, this would fit, but the silver was a bit.. chilly so I set the silver aside and die cut bronze. I used a black gloss foiled cardstock for the piano.

After finishing the Piano Birthday Bronze, I decided to go back to the original idea with the silver. I did a dry layout with the die cut piano and music and the scribble frame (which was also in my stash unused for months!).

It felt a bit plain, so I tried laying it out on a music background stamp.

I stamped the background with a light grey, Soft Granite, on a grasscloth textured panel and dry fit again adding a birthday sentiment.

I die cut the happy birthday from both the glitzy silver and black.

I used liquid glue to stack the die cuts then shoved the silver offset just a nudge to make the birthday sentiment stand out more.

I stamped the scribble with a dark grey, Charcoal, and then added everything to a white card base.

Inside, I used a Unity sentiment in black and notes in silver from a Craftin' Desert Divas set.
