Little Monsters - Distress ink watercolouring

Eeeek! Rah rah ah-ah-ah! Ro mah ro-mah-mah! Little monsters!! Oh... they're just here for Halloween, a Monster-fully sweet Halloween!

This card features a stamp set from the new September release as Kraftin' Kimmie Stamps coloured with Distress ink and waterbrush, and embellished with Gelly Roll, vellum, and embossing.

Putting It Together

My favourite holiday is Halloween because you can be anything you want or can imagine.

I stamped three of the little monsters on a strip of watercolour cardstock with light brown.

Using waterbrushes, I painted the little monsters. I smush the mini pad on my work surface then pick up the pigment with the brush.

I added Gelly Roll for metallic horns and white teeth. While colouring, I keep track of the colours on a bit of scrap.

I stamped and embossed the spider web balloon on vellum then fussy cut the images and balloon.

I decided to use the challenge sketch from Less Is More. I was originally planning a different layout, but the monsters just fit this so well.

I dry fit the trio with the "eeek" sentiment.

To make it easier to position the images, I used a touch of tape runner on one corner to join them together. I added foam mounting tape to the bottom of the group.

I embossed the front sentiment in silver and added a Glue Dot and a bit of baker's twine to the balloon.

I attached the twine to the top monster's hand after positioning the balloon and the trio of monsters.

Inside, I stamped another sentiment and embellished it with a spider on a string of silk. I added a treat bag and stars for even more inside detail.
