Dude! - Prismacolor pencil

Dude! It's your birthday, wish big and ROCK ON!

This birthday card features a musical teen from Kraftin' Kimmie Stamps coloured with Prismacolor pencil and a foiled die cut from Tutti Designs along with sentiments from two more Kraftin' Kimmie Stamps sets.

Putting It Together

I love music, so this die called to when I saw it on sale a couple months ago. The Kraftin' Kimmie Stamps set Smells Like Teen Spirit is a recent re-release. The two go together wonderfully with sentiments from two other Kraftin' Kimmie sets, both also recently released.

I stamped the image with Fog ink on white Mi-Tientes paper.

I used Prismacolor pencils to colour the teen using the "no lines" technique. I accented the strings on the guitar with some gel pen and added white dots to the eyes with gel pen, too.

I used the Tutti Designs treble clef with foiled paper in a bold orange. The "Dude" from the new Kick Assy Birthday was more impactful than the one in the Smells Like Teen Spirit set.

I adhered both the die cut with glue pen and the image with tape runner for a flat card and stamped "Dude!" with black archival ink.

Inside, I used the stars and "It's your birthday" from the Kick Assy Birthday set with "Wish Big and Rock On" from Dino-Mite Pals. I used black archival ink and dye ink. It's interesting to see how the two ink types interact with the paper with the archival so much crisper. I don't usually stamp the two types side by side like this but I wanted the colour to link back to the front.

  1. Oh my goodness, Rijacki, what an awesome card! From that wonderful image of the "dude" on the guitar to that incredible orange foil die-cut of the ornate treble clef, this card is outstanding. I love the no-line stamping and colouring you've done. It makes the image come to life. Great layout--simple but extremely effective. Thanks so much for joining our Watercooler Wednesday Challenge this week.
