Sweet Birthday - alcohol marker, die cutting

Trolling your birthday is a sweet thing. My card features a Kraftin' Kimmie stamp set with Tim Holz dies, Carabelle embossing folder and a whole lot of sweetness.

Putting It Together

I had a bit of fun with this project. Mmmmm candy.

I stamped the two images of the stamp set on Copic colouring card with Granite Grey. I'll colour the boy troll another day.

I used Spectrum Noir markers to colour the girl troll with her lolly.

I fussy cut the girl troll then used Nuvo drops to add some details including glossy Morning Dew on her lolly.

I embossed pink plaid card stock with an embossing folder from Carabelle. The texture pattern on the paper pattern is very whimsical. I decided to to a diagonal division for the card with numbers in one part. I dry fit the dies with the two papers as well as a sentiment cut from holographic cardstock.

I used purple tape to try to hold all the number dies in place, fitting them in the upper corner.

Afterr running the number panel through the big shot, I dry fit again with a glittery cardstock matt to see if I needed anything more. You can also see my numbers didn't stay perfectly aligned *sigh*

I die cut two more sets of the sentiment from heavy white cardstock to stack with the holographic.

I used the Glue Sponge to stack the sentiment. The glue in the sponge dries fairly quickly, but with enough time to get the stack aligned. It is less messy than other liquid glue for die cuts, but you do have to work pretty quickly. Tweezers are handy for both making sure the whole die cut gets adhesive and for moving the die cut.

After adhering them together, I used a thin strip of double-sided tape along the join between the plaid and the number panel.

I used the thin strip of tape to add a narrow ribbon with loopy edges and then folded its ends behind the panel.

After adding the number and plaid panel to the glittery matt and a white card base, I then added the sentiment using the Glue Sponge and the Misti Creative Corners.

Lastly, I added the girl troll with foam mounting tape and a Nuvo crystal as the dot for the "i".

Inside, I stamped a sentiment on a DoCrafts candy sticker for a fun detail.
