Dream - stencilling, embossing, Perfect Pearls

My inspiration project for this week's Through the Craftroom Door challenge is a square card dedicated to dreaming. I love the stars and looking up at them to inspire me to dream where my life could be. My project includes a Visible Image stencil with Distress Oxide spray on black, Elizabeth Craft Designs die cut Way With Words, an embossed sentiment from Emerald Creek, and, inside, Perfect Pearls on a background sentiment stamp from Unity Stamp Co with Hero Arts sentiment and stars.

This week's Through the Craftroom Door challenge has no sponsor, so Cara is generously offering a $5 open gift card to the winner.

Putting It Together

My crafty friend was looking through my stash on Evernote and noticed I have several "dream" dies. She asked why I had so many saying the same thing, but, I replied, they're all different. I like dreams, I am a dreamer.

I used a Visible Image stencil with Distress Oxide spray on a panel of heavy black cardstock.

After the spray had dried, I dry fit the sentiment stamp, from Emerald Creek, and 'dream' die from Elizabeth Craft Designs. I love the calligraphy of Way With Words so much. I have a few of the dies.

I used Glue Sponge to apply adhesive to the die cut sentiment and applied it to a sheet of heavy vellum. I used clouded foiled cardstock from Hunkydory for the die cut.

I decided to fussy cut around the 'dream'.

I also die cut two heavy black cardstock dreams that I stacked below the vellum.

I embossed the sentiment with Antique Gold from Simon Says Stamp on heavy vellum then fussy cut around it.

I dry fit the sentiments on the background.

I decided to use another dream inside as a background detail. I stamped the 'dream' background stamp from Unity Stamp Co. with Nuvo Clear Mark then brushed on Perfect Pearls interference red. After brushing away the excess with a soft brush, I wafted the background through a mist of water sprayed in the air to set the powder.

I used pop-up Glue Dots to adhere the stamped sentiment and liquid adhesive for the stacked dream.

Inside, I added a pearl cardstock panel trimmed with CC Designs die and stamped with Hero Arts sentiment and stars. I like to add a light coloured panel to the inside of a black cardbase to make it easy to add a personal sentiment.
