Martini Mice

Little mousies looking for a bit of a snack at the bottom of a glass. Cheers!

Supplies

Putting It Together

For this project I used another one of the stamps I got from the gift card I won for the House Mouse challenge a few months ago. Three little mousies helping each other to get a bit of a snack left behind in a glass.

I stamped the image with dark brown and then painted with Distress Ink and waterbrushes. I added a touch of Wink of Stella to the ribbon for a bit of sparkle and white Gelly-roll pen on the edges of the glass to make it more 'glassy'. I then cut the panel using a Spellbinders matting die.

Core'dinations Black Magic paper has a black treatment on one side. After embossing it with the folder, sanding the black side reveals the colour beneath. I chose the black and dark red to give the card and old-fashioned martini lounge feel.

I dry fit the panel with the image and the die I planned to use. I wanted to keep the rest of the card simple and supportive of the story in the image.

I die cut the 'cheers' from a mottled mercury glass paper because I didn't want the gold to be too bright or too perfect. I think the texture in the gold adds the right touch. Before die cutting it, I added adhesive sheet to the back to make it easier to add to the panel.  I used foam mounting tape on the image panel to pop it up for more impact.

I stamped a portion of the stamp inside the card to give it a bit of detail when opening the card.
