Spring pastels for a 'boy' card? Why not? Clint coming by to say "Howdy" and wish a Happy Birthday to an "awesome dude".
Supplies
When looking through my stash for two pattern papers and thinking to go for a colour challenge with coral and spring green, I ran into a paper I've been longing to use, the green mandala paper from the Recollections Bohemian pad and a scrap from the Graphic 45 Off to the Races. The horseshoes gave me a spark of idea and I looked through my stash to see I did actually get Clint from Kraftin' Kimmie Stamps and hadn't just thought about it *laugh*
And thus, a cowboy themed card started brewing. I was a bit amused to be using Spring "pastels" to make a "boy" card.
I used Distress Ink and waterbrush to colour up Clint. I gave him a yellow duster and white hat with Spring green vest.
I decided to use the April sketch from Kraftin' Kimmie Stamp as my layout. I dry fit all the elements together with a stamp from the Funny Farm stamp set from Kraftin' Kimmie Stamps.
I die cut an oval with cross stiching from a coral pink Tim Holtz Core'dinations picking up on the lighter colours in the horseshoes. I made the flags from soft finish cardstock and a mustard yellow from the Core'dinations. For the Core'dinations oval and flag, I used a nail buffer to give them a light distress sanding. I also added a rhinestone star to Clint.
I added the elements to a card base I made from Simon Says Stamp heavy cardstock. I used foam mounting tape to pop up the oval and Clint on top of it.
Inside, I added a scrap of the horseshoes and a sentiment from CC Designs, My Big Wheels, and added a couple stars from Let Your Light Shine from Kraftin' Kimmie Stamps.
