Colour

You colour my world with the brightest of hues, bringing me joy. This upbeat card has a bit of sparkle and a large helping of fun.

Putting It Together

Thinking about a challenge of clouds, I first considered something with rain and storm clouds since it has been very rainy here in British Columbia, Canada. But,while looking through my Kraftin' Kimmie stamps, I saw the rainbow and thought of the paper in my stash.

I used stitched dies to cut the rainbow striped background and the circle for the focal. I stamped the rainbow and clouds with Versamark and embossed with black that has multi-coloured flecks of colour. I used a waterbrush and added the colours to the rainbow with Distress Ink: Salty Ocean, Lucky Clover, Mustard Seed, and Candied Apple. I then stamped the sentiment with Versamark and used Sweet Valentine embossing, also a glittered embossing powder.

When doing my dry layout, I considered two angles, vertical...

...and horizontal. Both would have worked out fine, but I liked the horizontal just a little bit better. It felt more balanced I did have to create a new card base 'cause I didn't have any with this orientation on hand.

Creating a standard, single fold A2 card base from an 8.5x11" sheet is easy. On the 11inch side, cut in half at 5 1/2 inches. Score that at the halfway point of 4 1/4 inches and fold. Done.

I used the Misti to get the ribbon aligned. This is the back of the yellow glitter panel with the rainbow paper affixed. I used the circle to make sure the ribbon was high enough. Then I taped the ends to the back of the panel.

The panel is attached flat to the card base. The focal circle is popped up with foam mounting tape for a bit of dimension.

Inside, I used a sentiment from another Kraftin' Kimmie set that fit the mood and added a scrape strip of the rainbow paper.
