Tea? - Through the Craftroom Door inspiration - watercolour with die cut frame and embossed background

This week's sponsor for the Through the Craftroom Door challenge is Pattie's Creations. For my inspiration card, I present to you, an invitation to tea.

I am an Artist and Internet Technology Specialist. I have created my very own character and her best friend, her name is Pattieboop and her best friend is a very petite CAT named Allie. I love to draw and create my own digital images to use while crafting. My digital images that you find here are mine and i want to start sharing them with you. I am applying a small fee for my images and i know you will just love them.

Come join us for the challenge this week at Through the Craftroom Door, the theme is always Anything Goes!

Putting It Together

My creation this week is intended to be reminiscent of a delightful, relaxing afternoon tea.

I received a package with items I ordered and one was this delightful embossing folder from Taylored Expressions with roses. I used Core'dinations Tim Holtz paper with a coloured core, so I took a nail buffer and sanded the embossing to expose the lighter coloured core. Such a lovely effect.

I dry fit the Oval Flourish Frame Edges die from Elizabeth Craft Designs on the embossing to get an idea how the frame could look.

I added the teapot from Pattie's Creations, printed on watercolour paper, to the dry fit to imagine it all put together.

I die cut two of each side of the frame edges and tacked them together with thin double-sided tape. I used Neenah metallic paper in champagne pearl for the frame.

When I dry fit the frame on the embossing I was so pleased with how it looks.

I had to go on an unexpected trip and so took some printed tea pots with me to colour with watercolour pencils and waterbrushes. I used Stampin' Up and Prima Marketing, hair and skin tones, for my watercolour pencils. I used the Kit & Clowder December Markers class as inspiration for the porcelain. I am rather pleased with how they turned out.

I decided to use the gold and blue pot with pink flowers.

I fussy cut the pot.

When I dry fit the pot on the background, I felt it needed a bit something more but was really liking how it looked.

I took some white satin ribbon from my stash and embossed it with rose gold using a sentiment from Jillibean Soup. The embossing powder sunk into the ribbon but still gave a little bit of sparkle.

To anchor the ribbon, I used a bit of washi tape on the back of the embossed panel.

I adhered the frame to the embossed panel before adding the ribbon with the ribbon over both.

To give the pot a bit of dimension, I used foam mounting tape.

And, all done.

Inside, I embossed a sentiment, from Elizabeth Craft Designs, and tea bag, from Jillibean Soup, with the same rose gold from Simon Says Stamp as on the ribbon, a ice touch of sparkle for the inside.
