Celebrating with a Mouse who's just waiting to share his jelly beans for the birthday party.
This birthday card features a House Mouse and Friends stamp with Distress inks and Perfect Pearls.
Supplies
These are not affiliate links just the products I use and where you can find them, too (if they're not retired).
I love the cute House Mouse and Friends stamps so I was quite happy to find one at a recent garage sale hosted by a local scrapbooking shop.
The only downside, wood mount. Since I frequently use watercolour cardstock and it has a bit of a bumpy texture, I prefer stamping with my Misti because I can do a double stamp if I don't get a clean impression the first time.
But, the stamping fairies loved me and gave me a clean impression. I had used a dark cocoa ink to combine with the colouring.
I used Distress ink and waterbrush to colour the Mouse.
For the frame, I started with a small white panel that I secured to my work surface with washi tape.
I covered the panel with Mustard Seed using a blender.
I then covered the panel with a stencil and added Carved Pumpkin.
I brushed on Mandarin Perfect Pearls.
The sparkle on the orange is quite remarkable in person.
I die cut a frame from the panel I just made. I die cut the mouse panel to match the oval. I also cut an oval frame of orange fun foam. I dry fit them together and giggled with glee when it matched the idea in my head.
I added a bit of grass to ground the mouse.
I die cut a lace doily quarter from yellow value cardstock and dry fit the mouse oval. I loved the look.
To add a little more sparkle, I used a Mister and sprayed the doily quarter with Confetti White Perfect Pearls.
I die cut balloons from a scrap of value cardstock and used them as a mask to add a couple balloons to the inside of the card. I used the blender to add Carved Pumpkin by brushing from the outside going in.
I used Multi-Medium matte to adhere the doily quarter and stamped the sentiment with Tangelo Twist from Stampin' Up, using a stamp from Stampin' Up.
I added strings to the balloons with Black Soot Distress marker but otherwise left the inside of the card empty.
