Supplies
For this project, I used texture paste and a stencil to add snowflakes to the background used a sentiment that, while not from a Christmas set, fits the scene perfectly.
I stamped the image on to a top fold A2 card base I made from 140 lb watercolour card stock and did a dry layout with the snowflake stencil.
Because I wanted the stencil as a background on the same layer, I created a mask by stamping the same image on typing paper and...
... fussy cutting the top area. Later, I'll just use removable adhesive on the paper to stick it to my card.
I coloured the stamped image using Distress Ink minis and water brushes.
I then covered the painted image with the paper mask and masked off the rest of the card with large Post-Its.
I taped down the stencil to cover the area. Then I smeared on transparent glossy texture paste with a plastic putty knife, evenly filling all the openings.
I carefully removed the plastic stencil and left the texture paste to dry. I should have removed all the masking when the texture paste was wet. Leaving it in place while it dried, the masking was hard to lift off, the texture paste was holding it in place. I used a craft knife to free the masking.
The clear gloss texture paste acts as a resit. I put the masks back into place and used a blending tool to add Faded Jeans to the sky.
The sentiment I used is from a non-Christmas set but fits this pair of mousies so well and is a good sentiment for Christmas as well.
