Clean / Dirty flipper - Through the Craftroom Door - Prismacolor pencil, hose decor

The theme for the March-April web challenge of the Through the Craftroom Door magazine is Mixed Media!

For my project, I made a two-sided flipper for a dishwasher using a chipboard base and characters from Wonderland. The character stamps are Kraftin' Kimmie sets, the die cut letters are Spellbinders, the colouring is Prismacolor pencil, and the chipboard hexagon is Kaisercraft.

#girlpower - Prismacolour pencil

Strong girls make for even stronger women! Every girl should know she can be anything she wants to be and that she can do anything the boys can, too.

I used a Kraftin' Kimmie stamp set with Prisma colour pencils to make a tall thin card.

Happy Birthday to ME! - Big Shot Plus

My birthday was the 12th of February. My sweetie asked me what I wanted and I said a Big Shot Plus. *grin*

It's a behemoth! It will take dies up to 8 1/2" x 11". There are both steel rule and framelet/thinlet dies that take advantage of the larger format to make larger items, many of them related to sewing projects or boxes. Plus it can cut a larger number of smaller dies all at once.

In addition to the items in the starter kit, I also got a Spellbinders Contour die that makes a dandy little box similar to an old-fashioned popcorn box.

After I tore open the plastic packaging on the Spellbinders die, my sweetie dropped by my workshop and I told him how the steel rule die could cut through a variety of materials like plastic and chipboard and.. Then I realised I had a sheet of plastic just the right size for the die, the packaging it came in!

I hadn't been super careful in breaking into the package so had a tear to work around. I had to trim the plastic to roughly 8 1/2" x 11" so it wasn't too hard to position the die to avoid the tear.

All one piece in just one pass. :)

The partial-cut scorelines put in by the die make it easy to fold the sides and bottom.

A single strip of adhesive on the tab for one side with the bottom interlocking and it was all done.

It makes a great holder for my brushes. My other cups were over-full so this is just perfect.

Using Sleep Tight, I created a wall hanging of a sleeping boy and his room. The image is coloured with Prima watercolour pencils paired with a variety of die cut items and Kaisecraft Beyond the Page frames.

Here Leezard - watercolour, stencil, masking, single layer

A few (well quite a few) years ago there was a movie with a HUGE lizard that got a tie-in with a fast food restaurant with a Chihuahua as it's mascot. The movie was Godzilla and the fast food place was Taco Bell. One of the adverts, the dog, looking for a really big meal was calling, "Here, Leezard, Leezard, Leezard." From the very first I saw this stamp, I thought of that advert. So... here he is in the city with his big big bone from a big big leezard.

This project uses a Kraftin' Kimmie Stamp set and a stencil made with an Impression Obsession die. Distress ink and water brush for the dog and Clarity brush for the stencilled city.

Love you - Resist technique, #MyMonthlyHero

All in the name of love, resist-ance is not futile. It can make some really pretty cards.

I fashioned this Valentine card using the emboss resist technique, a background stamp from Simon Says Stamp, and the January 2018 My Monthly Hero kit.

Love Story - Sheepski Designs, Prismacolour pencils

The challenge for this February on Sheepski Designs challenge blog is Red, Hearts, Romance, and/or Love. My inspiration piece combines Fantasy Romance with all of those. Come join us with the challenge.

Fantasy Romance depicts an elven couple in a loving embrace. The alternate image, included in the download, added wings to the male.

I coloured the image with PrismaColor pencils and used an Umbrella Craft die to create a scalloped heart window to frame them with a heart-filled paper.
