Congratulations - watercolour, embossing resist

White flowers as a congratulatory greeting for a happily ever after, my card features Unity Stamps and an Elizabeth Craft Designs die cut sentiment and Zig watercolour marker.

Putting It Together

A few days ago I was watching a video on watercolour techniques and it gave me an idea.

I embossed the flowers with rose gold and then used Zig watercolour markers for a background wash with Finetec mica watercolour for the flower centres.

For the background wash, I first wet an area with a waterbrush.

I then tapped a small dot of Zig watercolour marker close to the flower.

With the waterbrush, I pulled the marker pigment diluting it to the edge of the image panel. This gave me a darker colour near the flower to nearly clear at the outside edge.

I left the flowers white and used Zig markers and Finetec mica watercolour on the flower centres with a few touches of green on the leaves.

I die cut the sentiment from a fine glittered, glitzy, cardstock and did a dry layout with washi tape on a white card base.

I glued the sentiment to the image panel.

I added partial cuts from scrap cardstock to the back of the image panel and the parts of the sentiment extending from it. This helps to reinforce the sentiment to allow it to stand out on its own.

I added the panel to the card base with foam mounting tape.

Inside, I added a strip of the washi tape and a sentiment.
