Walkin' with a rainbow when the sun shines through when it's been rainy brings a bit of a bounce to the step, that optimism bounce. My card featured a House Mouse image triple stamped with a Kaleidacolor rainbow ink pad and framed with a holographic die cut.
Putting It Together
I started this project with a very very very vague idea with a triple stamping of a single image. I did a bunch of experimenting with the stamping until I found what worked and fit an idea for a card.
To do my multi stamping, I started with making a mask. I stamped on lightweight printer paper and fussy cut the image. I added removable adhesive to the back of the mask to hold it in place.
I stamped the image with Rich Cocoa and then covered it with the mask for the next stamping. I moved the card stock and stamped again. A stamp positioner like the Misti makes that so much easier than an acrylic block. I covered the second stamping with the mask to do the third stamping.
Later in my experiments, I added additional masking with Post-It Notes.
I started with 3 browns but something about it just wasn't really gelling. I left it, went to sleep and work the next day, and ruminated on it. I pondered stuff in my stash and remembered the Kaleidacolor stamp pad I bought last summer at one of the garage sales sponsored by a local scrapbooking store. And an idea blossomed. It still took me a few tries (and I point out the flaws in the collage above) until I got the final image.
Ta da! I did the second stamping with the multi-colour pad without re-inking. My intent is that it looks like movement with a rainbow following the bunny, cast by her.
I pulled a frame from my stash and dry fit it for sizing.
I die cut the chain frame from holographic foiled paper for more hints of rainbow.
I liked how the holographic paper looked on this dark blue-green.
I cut out the middle to make it a frame and dry fit it with the sentiment. And... hated it. It was too dark and made everything so dull.
So... I switched to a bright yellow paper from the Lawn Fawn watercolour pad. I cut an oval for the sentiment with a pink paper from the same pad. I dry fit it all together and felt it was a good look.
I stamped the sentiment with Fushcia and dry fit it in a different placement. I also cut a white heavy cardstock frame to go under the yellow to add a very thin dimension.
After adhering everything, I painted the shoes and purse of the rabbit with Nuvo Crystal Drops using a waterbrush and added Nuvo Glitter Drops to the necklace. I also added petite posies in the complete links.
Inside, I used Distress ink with Clarity brush and a My Favorite things stencil to add a sunburst because rainbows need the sun and the sun has a feeling of optimism. I also added a sentiment using the Kaleidacolor pad.

Isn't it amazing when a card idea isn't working on, to go sleep on it. Sometimes those aha moments happen in the middle of the night for me. I love how you morphed your original concept into the finished model. So wonderful to see the rainbow bunny shadow trail off behind her. Lovely card. I really like the holographic chain line around the outside of the card too. Thanks so much for sharing your project and how you got there, at the "Feminine" Anything Goes challengeat the Watercooler this week. Love it!
