Hello! This little bear is peeking from behind the door to welcome you to the birthday celebration!
This card features a brand new digital stamp from Sheepski Designs, Augie, and is my inspiration project for the first challenge of the year for Sheepski Designs. The theme for the January 2018 challenge is Anyhing Goes! Come join us for the challenge.

Putting It Together
Andrea previewed this image with the team a couple weeks ago and an idea for it instantly popped in my head!
My good friend Betty gifted me with a set of Prima Colour A La Cremes for Yule so I just had to given them a try. They're water soluble oil pastels, basically oil crayons that you can use with water. Oil and water mixing together? it makes my brain hurt so I just try not to think about how that works *laugh*.
I used the pastels both directly on the paper (90lb watercolour) and by scribbling on a piece of plastic before using water brushes (Prima ones I got on a recent sale, from Black Friday to 12 Days of Christmas to Boxing Day and now New Years, my credit card wants to go on strike) to move the pigment. I used Ochre. Burnt Sienna, and Dark Brown (the other colours on the plastic were from another project I did on the same day).
I added Liquid Pearls Onyx Pearl for the eyes since every teddy bear I have has plastic button-like eyes. I also used Glossy Accents on the nose to give it glossy shine, too.
Before fussy cutting the image I used removable adhesive to adhere it to a heavier cardstock. I knew I wanted to back the watercolour paper to hide any stray marks on the back and give the light watercolour paper structure.
I fussy cut the 2 layers together.
I used a craft knife to cut a slit for the forward paw so it could be reaching over the front of the card.
After staring at the bear while cutting, I decided he needed more depth. I decided to try using Prismacolour pencils over the pastels. Using short quick flicks, I added fuzziness using several colours.
I used very small dots of white Enamel Acents on the eyes to give them more life.
I created an A2 card base, 4 1/4" x 5 1/2", with a fold for the side. Then, I trimmed off almost half of the front for the bear to peek around.
I dry fit the bear on the modified card base.
I looked through the wood papers in my stash and found this grey wood reminded me most of door as it would be sized for a teddy bear. The keyhole stamp I found last summer at a garage sale sponsored by a local scrapbook store. I have no idea where the stamp comes from, who made it, or how retired it is. I just love it and it fit so well for this door.
I embossed the key hole with gold and die cut a hello from glittered cardstock. I noticed I had a stray yellow mark on the inside of the card behind where the bear's head would be. I die cut blue mylar as a balloon to hide the stray mark and fill some of the white space behind the bear.
I used the Tombow glue pen to adhere the balloon by running a thin line around just the outer rim. I used the glue pen on the "hello", too.
Inside, I added a sentiment from Stampendous and doodled a string for the balloon.
