Shakers are a fun kind of interactive card. This birthday shaker featutes Lawn Fawn plaid, a Memory Box die, Simon Says Stamp stamp, and fun.
Supplies
These are not affiliate links just the products I use and where you can find them, too (if they're not retired).
My friend gave me this plaid a while back, when I was looking for something to paper piece for a Dorothy. The Wizard of Oz project has been on my To Do list for a while, but keeps getting delayed. I decided to use some of this lovely paper as the background for a multi-colour shaker.
I decided to use a multi-circle die and fun foam to build up the shaker.
I dry fit the plaid and a white panel on a card base with the die to layout my card.
To make it easier to have the two top pieces line up, I adhered them together with removable adhesive.
After die cutting..
I sandwiched some clear acetate from recycled packaging between the plaid and the white panel and fit the plaid rings into place.
I attached the foam to the back of the panel and filled the circles with four colours of dollar store sequins.
I used a scrap of cardstock to cover the back of the shakers.
I like making the shaker as a stand alone piece so it's easier to add to a card.
I added a sentiment and adhered the shaker.
Inside the card, I used the four cut out circles to add a bit of decoration.
