A shy little girl offering flowers to the one she finds beautiful. This card features Unity stamps, a Crafter's Workshop stencil, Distress ink and stain, and Perfect Pearls.

Putting It Together

This is the first Unity stamp I ever bought but it's been sitting in my stash waiting for a project.

I stamped the image with dark brown for a softer look.

I used Distress ink to watercolour the image using a limited palette and a water look. I used Twisted Citron on her sweater, a watery wash with less watery for the shadows. I used Picked Raspberry for the skirt and shoes. The flowers are Spun Sugar with Picked Raspberry. Her skin is Tattered Rose with Vintage Photo for her hair. The grass is Peeled Paint.

I trimmed the image to be on a strip. I love this shy little girl. Later I ran the Spun Sugar mini along the edges of the strip to give it a subtle finish.

Starting on the background, I used Distress Stain in Spun Sugar to cover a soft finish panel that had been secured to my work surface with washi creating a narrow margin on the edges. I used a heat tool to dry the stain.

I covered the panel with a flowery stencil and then, using a Clarity brush, I added Picked Raspberry from a mini that had been smushed on my work surface. Using the brush is a softer addition of colour than the blender tool.

To darken the edges, I used the blender tool blending in from the edges.

The inked panel subtly darker on the edges.

I sprayed the panel with Perfect Pearls mixed with water in a mister. The Confetti White gives the panel a little bit of sparkle. I dried it again with the heat tool to minimise dripping.

I stamped and embossed a sentiment with a light pink and die cut it into a flagged strip. The strip is actually flagged on both ends because I wasn't sure which side of the girl I wanted to put it. Flagging both sides gave me options. I also inked the edge of the flower panel with the Twisted Citron mini for a thin line of colour.

I used foam mounting tape on the sentiment and double on the girl strip to give them dimension. I also added frosted embellishments in pinks, green, and white. I always have issues feeling out where to put the embellishments when I want to have them.

For the inside, I brushed on some Picked Raspberry through the stencil and stamped a sentiment with black.
