Coffee Friend

Sharing a warm beverage, or even a cold one, with a friend while chatting and enjoying each other's presence is a fantastic way to spend an afternoon.

This card features Stampin' Up products with an embossing folder by Elizabeth Craft Designs and stenciling inside.

Supplies

These are not affiliate links just the products I use and where you can find them, too (if they're not retired).

Putting It Together

A few weeks ago while at my local Stampin' Up demonstrator's gather, she had several of the new catalogue items available for us to try. I borrowed her Coffee Café set to start this card. I used mostly Stampin' Up products for the card.

I stamped the cup shaped sentiment with Early Espresso on some Natural White cardstock I brought with me and then die cut it with the cup die. I then brought it home and set it aside in my stash for a few weeks *laugh*

I dry fit the cup with Early Espresso cardstock and Limon-Lime Twist for a pop of colour. The green looks good with the browns.

I "cheated" and used an Elizabeth Craft Designs embossing folder with coffee beans because I was just too perfect. I dry fit them together and was pleased with the look.

For the inside of the card, I did a little stenciling with a Clarity brush. I cheated a little again and used Distress ink, Twisted Citron and Ground Espresso.

Since I only secured one side of the stencil, I could lift it like a hinge to see how the stenciling was progressing.

I clean my Clarity brush in between colours with a wet wipe.

I put down the first colour then moved the stencil to put down the second. You can see how close in colour the Distress ink and the Stampin' Up colours are. I'll definitely have to combine them again.

I used foam mounting tape to 'pop-up' the cup.

Other than the colours, I left the inside blank. I meant for the stenciling to end lower but got carried away.
