A shimmery dragon with a birthday heart and wish, this sweet little tag features Kraftin' Kimmie stamps, Finetec metallic watercolours, Recollections paper, Stampin' Up ribbon, and a hint of Worn Lipstick Distress Oxide. Rawrrr!
Supplies
These are not affiliate links just the products I use and where you can find them, too (if they're not retired).
Last week I made a card with a tag shape window. With this project, I make use of the tag shape that was die cut to make that window.
The paper of the tag shape is very thin, envelope weight, pattern paper, so I needed to have a heavier cardstock as the backing. I decided I also wanted to have a sliver of matting visible using that cardstock. Since I had used the largest of the dies in the nested set for the tag shape, I traced around the die I had used. The lines of the tag are straight, so I used the trimmer to cut them.
I then used a blender tool and Worn Lipstick Oxide Distress to colour up just the edges. I like the Oxide for this because of it's slightly chalky softer look than the regular Distress.
The matting/backing is a perfect fit.
I then stamped the dragon with black Archival ink and painted him (her?) with Finetec pearlescent paints for a shimmery metallic look: Caribbean Green for his body with Sapphire Blue shading, Blue Silver for his belly with Deep Black shading, Crystal Gold for his crest and back fin, and Purple with Amethyst shading for his heart.
After painting, I die cut using one of the smaller tag shapes in the nested set and added the sentiment with the same black ink. I popped up the dragon panel with foam mounting tape and added a hole and some ribbon for a fast and adorable tag. The back is blank (and not even inky at all!!) for a personal sentiment. I love how this pulled together.
