On a cold blustery Monday, a coffee hot tub would be a lovely idea. I coloured the Kraftin' Kimmie image with Nuvo watercolour pencils and added embossing in two ways to the card.
Putting It Together
Kraftin' Kimmie Stamps recently rereleased the I {Heart} Coffee set. I'm so glad she did 'cause it's an adorable image.
I used Nuvo watercolour pencil and waterbrush to colour the image on Master's Touch watercolour paper. I was in Hobby Lobby a couple weeks ago and decided to try out their own branded paper. The paper is 140lb (300gsm) and works pretty decently. It feels a bit more texturey and is a bit more thirsty so colour didn't lift as easily. But, colours did blend and flow nicely. For a cheap paper, it's better than the Micheal's branded paper.
I got it stuck in my head to use the sketch from the Outlawz challenge for week of 29 Sept.
I die cut the image with a circle and pulled together several items from my stash including large scraps of patterned papers. I got the ruffly grey ribbon at some time because I loved it but hadn't found projects for it. I wanted most of the background in the browns to tie into the colour of coffee. The grey ties to the blue and is a nice anchor.
I embossed the dark brown with coffee beans. I assembled the base of the panel to be 5 1/4" square to fit on the 5 1/2" square card base with a narrow margin.
I added the ruffled ribbon and Graphic 45 strip over the tri-coloured panel. The other patterned paper is a long retired Stampin' Up DSP.
On the back, I used washi tape to hold the ribbon. It's also adhered with the Graphic 45 strip.
Inside, I used another coffee set for the sentiment and image in brown.
