My card today features Kraftin' Kimmie stamps, 3-D embossing from Crafter's Companion decorated with Cosmic Shimmer.
Putting It Together
Opposites are attractive, or something *smirk* I used a very pretty background for my negative sentiment.
For this project, I used a background I made a few days ago as part of a post on using 3-D embossing and rub/paste type stuff. Check out the post for more information: Backgrounds, part 2.
I sized my sentiment with a Spellbinders die which also gave me a feel for how big my sentiment panel would be.
I die cut an oval for the sentiment from Recollections cardstock and matting from a DCWV Glittery pad. The tinsel ribbon I bought on a whim when it was on clearance at Micheals last Christmas (or was it the one before that) fit perfectly when I dry fit everything together.
No one will see the centre of the matte. Since I will want to have glittery to use later, I cut out the middle which will be hidden by the embossed panel.
I adhered the matte as a frame on the back.
On the front, you can't tell if it covers the whole back or just the edges.
Inside, I stamped the positive solution to the sentiment on the front.

Ooooh super pretty and sparkly card Kate. Great texture with the embossing and shimmer. Thanks for joining us at the Watercooler Wednesday CHallenge this week. Tristan (DT)
ReplyDeleteOh Kate, what a super card! I love the colours, the embossing and that great shimmery tinsel ribbon "girdle" around the centre. What a clever idea to have the "downer" sentiment on the front of the card and then to temper it with the positive inside. Yes, in my opinion coffee does make everything better. Thanks so much for joining our Watercooler Wednesday Challenge this week.
