Grow Love

Kraftin' Kimmie Stamps has many wonderful sentiments with their stamp sets. I often use the sentiments for a variety of cards. This card features a KKS sentiment and an abstract flower die cut from Mylar shimmer paper and festooned with red metallic paper and sheer ribbon.

Supplies

Putting It Together

I had a thought to make a stencil from a scrap bit of acetate using the Lavalier die. Seeing the die cut in clear plastic, I got the idea to cut it from mylar. Die cutting plastic or mylar requires the Precision Base for the die to cut hard enough to actually cut the material.

I also trimmed a red panel and then die cut an interior rectangle to make the red as a frame. I die cut a red heart to go on the flower as it's centre. I dry fit the elements as I designed the card.

I stamped the sentiment and adhered the items to the front of the card and then gave a thought to the inside.

I used the plastic stencil I made, the one that sparked the idea for this project, to add an impression of the die cut with a Clarity brush and Distress Ink.

The Clarity brush has a softer look than the blending sponges.

To echo the front, I added a heart to the centre of the flower on the inside.

I love how the mylar petals take on different colours depending on how the light hits the flower.
