Bride - watercolour

The True Love of a bride on her wedding day is pure magic. My card features stamps from Kraftin' Kimmie Stamps, watercolouring, and a cut 'n' emboss folder.

Putting It Together

I have changed my mind three times since deciding to use this stamp for a card now. I first wanted to do a single-layer card with the groom and masking. Then I decided to use a Tonic die and had even prepped a background for the pop-outs. But, I picked up and order this morning that had this particular emboss and cut folder and it called to me. I tried the background panel I prepped with it but decided the glitter would work better. Now I have other pieces I didn't use for a future project.

I stamped the bride on watercolour paper with Terrific Taupe.

I then watercoloured the image using what I always can my fan pan.  It's an inexpensive set of watercolours with surprising vibrancy and handy form factor for compact storage.

I fussy cut the bride with a narrow margin.

The embossing folder I used cuts the heart. I decided to use the glitter paper to peek through the heart and as a matting because it matches so well to the bouquet.

I used foam mounting tape to pop-up the bride and added tiny pearls to the background.

Inside, I stamped the sentiment then added hearts from another set.

  3. Oh my goodness, Kate, what an awesome card! The soft watercolouring of your bride is gorgeous and you're right about the colour of that bouquet being the same colour as the glitter paper. I love what you've done with that cut and emboss folder, adding those tiny pearls. This card is simply stunning. Thanks so much for sharing with us for our Watercooler Wednesday Challenge this week. BTW, I'm looking forward to seeing what you do with the pieces you prepped and decided not to use this time.
