One Cup at a Time
Some days it can be tough to get going. You need to take life just one cup at a time.
This card combines images from two Kraftin' Kimmie Stamps sets, Angie and One Cup at a Time!
Thinking of you
Thinking of you as a fairy in a teacup. The inspiration for this was a "girly" challenge, a masking challenge, and a personal challenge to use at least one button and a doily. I am rather pleased with how it turned out.

Butterfly in the Sky
"Butterfly in the sky, I can fly twice as high.." The theme song from Reading Rainbow always goes swirling in my head whenever I see butterflies.
A video shared earlier this week to a group I'm in reminded me of a technique I had used in my childhood to make "stained glass" only this time it was using a butterfly die cut. Ooooo, thinks I, I have that Memory Box die cut I have been wanting to use and the Monday challenge is butterflies with another challenge for masking, I can shake an idea out of my head :)
After some of my recent multi-supply, multi-step putting it together, this one seemed almost too easy.

Enchanting
The inspiration for this card were challenges to use the drapery fold, polka dots, and the absolutely adorable Tea Cup Fairy.
April Showers...
This one has been humming in my head for a few days. On Monday (11 April) the theme of the Simon Says Stamp Challenge was posted as "April Showers Bring May Flowers". I had just gotten delivery of my first Stampin' Up order with Wildflowers stamps and I still had rain on the mind and shaker cards. Hmm.. says I. Then I noticed on another blog, another challenge requiring a House Mouse stamp. Oh, thinks I, those are stinking cute. I was also thinking about my Lawn Fawn hills and the grass die I have, too, and KKS, of course, and, and, and...

Colouring Resin with Pearl Ex Two Ways
My first paid tutorial is now live!
http://www.resinobsession.com/resin-tutorials/using-pearl-ex-resin
The tutorial is on using Pearl Ex with resin in two different ways to colour resin with completely different effects. For example, in the shells picture above (from the article) the two pink shells are using the same exact Pearl Ex powder. The gold ones are also usingthe same one. In each pair, one is colored by brushing Pearl Ex in the mold and the other by mixing Pearl Ex into the resin. But... read the article for all the details. #ResinObsession
In addition, for this weekend (until 17 April 2016) many of the silicone molds are on sale -and- a coupon for $5 off on orders over $50. The coupon code brings a grin to my face: RIJACKI.
This is the start of something wonderful :) I will be doing a string of tutorials for Resin Obsession showcasing resin and resin related products (such as epoxy clay, molds, and colourants). This is on my road to having writing and creating as a much more significant part of my life and livelihood!

Birthday in Pink
There are three inspirations for this card. The Kraftin' Kimmie Blog Saturday Challenge for 9 April is "Pink!", the Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge is "Happy Birthday", and a dear friend of mine just had a birthday, so this will be a belated birthday card for her. Her favourite colour is, you guessed it, pink.

Hello Spring in BC
Spring in this part of BC, this year, has been rather rainy. But it is the rain that brings the green grass and the green trees, so I am not complaining in the least. I actually really like rain. I like snow more, but rain is good, too. Then the sunny days, like this weekend feel oh so much more wonderful, too.

New Home
At the beginning of April, my mom picked up stakes and moved to Texas, to where my brother and his family live (i.e. to live near her granddaughters). She moved from a 4 bedroom house in Southern California to a 2 bedroom apartment in a senior living community. Definitely down-sizing. This is the card I made to celebrate her new home.

O Canada!
2.5 years ago, my sweetie and I moved to Canada from California. My day job was closing the office in the location I was at and offered to relocate my sweetie and I to the Vancouver area of British Columbia. For those who don't know Canada, this is about 2 hours north of Seattle. I was thrilled by the offer since I had been born in Washington and my grandparents lived there through my childhood. No matter where I moved in the world, I longed to return to the Pacific Northwest.
Moving to Canada has been with some trials and tribulations but also with great blessings. After been renters for all of our adult lives, at the beginning of this year my sweetie and I bought a house, in Canada. We officially became Permanent Residents last October, on the weekend of Canadian Thanksgiving. We have had a lot to be thankful for.

Welcome Home
The 27 March Saturday challenge for Kraftin' Kimmie Stamps blog is "A New Home". Having recently moved, I pondered my own experiences for moving into a new home. While I pondered, I went through my growing collection of KKS stamps. Seeing Angie and thinking about my newly acquired Elizabeth Craft Designs coffee bean embossing folder, an idea began to brew. That first cup of coffee on the day after moving in with boxes waiting to be unpacked tastes so wonderful.
Bear Hugs for Baby
The inspiration for this card came from a few things at the same time. I've been recently marathoning Youtube videos done by Jennifer McGuire, and a recent one I watched was on a technique using vellum as the card front and really like the look. I've also started looking at more challenges because not only is it a good way to stretch my abilities but it's a good way to get seen and possibly win free stuff since many of the retailer sponsored challenges have a random give-away attached. Free stuff, Woo! Anyway, the Monday Challenge for Simon Says Stamp on 28 March is "We Can See Clearly", use some element of transparency in the project. Ooo, says I, I have been wanting to do that. I thought to stamps I have and then the ideas started swirling in the little grey cells. I already had a cute little coloured piece I made and didn't know what to do with. It would be lovely with a vellum card front.
